Corona Light bumps prize money from $5,000 to $15,000 for 2010 Breckenridge Event

Open Division prize money for the 20th Annual Putterhead Tournament was bumped today $15,000 for this years event. The increased purse should entice some of the nations top teams to join Colorados best in the sand at Carter Park. $10,000 will be used for the Men's Open Divison, with the other $5,000 for the ladies. Lod for some top ranked competition in the sand this year.
Putterhead/Breckenridge Doubles joins forces with Corona Wide Open Tour and the US Open of Beach Volleyball

The 20th Annual Putterhead Tournament had teamed up with the US Open of Beach Volleyball and the Corona Wide Open Tour. Winners of all Saturday divisions at the 2010 event will receive round trip airfare, lodging and entry in the the US Open of Beach Volleyball next September. As part of the Wide Open Tour, look for a ton of fun a center court in August, including music, stage, live DJ, Fashion Shows, and of course, great volleyball.
Putterhead Tournament Concludes in Exciting Fashion Despite Weather Conditions

The 18th Annual Putterhead Tournament ended Sunday amid less than desired weather conditions. Throughout the weekend, the weather dominated the headlines as many divisions were on altered playing formats/schedules. Friday, the Dino 80 Divison played amid a steady drizzle until the finals. Saturday, start times for all grass divisions were moved to 11am. In the end, the weather was not enough to dampen the enthusiasm of the record 250+ teams. Tournament Directors / Staff were pleased with the turnout and progression of game play for the entire weekend. Stay tuned for results from the 2008 Putterhead Tournament.
Day 3 Preview-Putterhead Tournament

With 2 action packed days in the books, Day 3 of the 18th Annual Putterhead Tournament is on tap to being one of the busiest in Putterhead history. The Men's & Women's Open Divisions resume play around 8am & the Men's/Women's Grass Division Play continue their march to the finals at 9am. The Coed Divsions begin their opening round of pool play around 8:45am. Tournament Director Doug Arritola exhibited much excitement over the energy charged atmoshere of Day 3. All Divisions will be playing (except Dino 80- already finished). If you're looking for plenty of volleyball action at all levels of play, Carter Park is the place to be on Sunday.

Day 2 of the 18th Annual Putterhead Tournament resumes despite the early rainfall & cooler than expected conditions. Early on, the Open Divisions began play around 8am but all Grass Division Play was halted until 11AM mst. Participants were anxious to play but it appeared that the waether would continue its onslaught. Around 10am, the rain stopped and Tournament Director Doug Arritola was optimistic about the chances of grass play resuming. In a statement issued at 11:30am, "Play resumes (All Divisions) and we will be on a modified schedule'. The breakdown of events: Men's Open- Play Continues, Women's Open- Play resumes on 8/17 AM, All Men's & Women's A/BB/B play continues on modified schedules, Coed A/BB/B begin play 8/17/08.

Meanwhile, all Grass Division Play is halted until 8-16-08 11AM mst. In a statement issued by directors Tom Davenport / Doug Arritola: "A decision will be made at 11am but it does not look good. Field / Playing conditions are subject to change and decisions will be made at game time at your designated fields.
